Night Painting

Amsterdam at 4 a.m.- priv. collection

Painting at night began for me as a way to exercise my eyes. Free from the constraints of detail and colour matching, I would focus simply on value , trusting that the works would read with a greater depth of field .

If you squint while looking at each piece, it will give you an even greater sense of depth and dimensionality.

From the rooftops of Ouarzazate, Morocco to the streets of Ankara, Turkey and even Amsterdam I have been lucky enough to night paint all over the world!
